Starting 2002-2003 Season.

A series of images plotting the changes that have taken place at Sixways over the last 5 seasons

Remember this game against Orrell.

8 Rows of seats in an uncovered North Stand and even for this game we did not fill the stand

Attendance for the game was 2,700

Remember that fantastic away game up at Orrell when we took up almost 3,000 supporters

The home game against Exeter was played in front of ,2250.

The East Stand then covered from 22 to 22 and had 10 rows.

This stand was eventually sold to Birmingham & Solihull and is still their main stand today

See a few players in this group, David Officer, Waggy can you name some others?

Another image of the East Stand, this time our guests were B&S themselves

A Great day with almost 3,000 supporters in the stadium

By the start of the 2003-2004 season this was the "NEW" East Stand

How did it get built?

What changes were done to the ground?

We had to develop the stadium because entry criteria to the ZP was then 8,500 with at least 3,000 seated and covered

We and the Premiership have come a long way since.

A quick look at the very basic construction of the East Stand.

bars were outside and uncovered, seats were built onto temporary steel bases. But when the feet got stamping what a great sound come from this stand

The uncovered very basic North stand was removed this season to prepare the base for the much expanded and covered stand.

Smaller by 6 rows than it is at present and with vertical supports ever few meters.

It was like being in a Cattle Pen, but a lot better than before.

This is where the Old East Stand stood before moving to Birmingham.

The close season saw the building of the first "Real" East Stand.

Remember we used to be able to park there as well

The temporary uncovered North Stand was also removed, as Cecil's team prepared for the 3 stage development of what will be a great North Stand

The guys are seen here busy digging out the ground ready for the huge concrete slab.

Notice the tents/marquees in the background.

A great place to meet before and after the games. Drank many a pint with away supporters here.

The groundwork's get started.

A long, long way to go

Rocket seen here trawling for a pint that may have been forgotten.

Mike looking all forlorn as his beloved boxing ring venue disappears

The old ticket Office and Water tank.

Behind the Warriors start to prepare for the coming season

This is what the West looked like with the marquees taken away and before the Sixways Suite was constructed.

The bushes to the right have now also been removed to extend the West Stand Car park

The base is prepared for the Sixways Suite.

The club Shop definitely had windows.

maybe WRFC will get this "bar" back again for its members.

Start of the steel framework for the East Stand.

As you can see pretty basic but this stand took us above the minimum 8,500 capacity for entry into the premiership

Looking from the back of the stand towards the South Stand

The concrete slab goes in to create the base for the North Stand

This was the inside of the Sixways Suite before the bars and furniture went in

The Suits provided us with more drinking and entertaining space as well as conferencing and function rooms

The East stand is well on its way

This is the game we had to win to become Div 1 Champions

Winning every game of the season, culmination in the game against Birmingham & Solihull
