To the Magnificent New East Stand 2008

Here She is in her next stage of development with some of the panelling now in place
Welcome to Week 12 of the New East Stand Development Diary.

It is now really taking shape as the panelling starts to go in.

A lot of visible changes this week

You can see here the first steels going in that will create the short link between the stand and the "Warrior Tower"

The steels that will create the skeleton of the next phase all laid out and ready to go in.

I imagine that some of these will go in today, Sunday 3rd Aug

If you thought the North Stand was dwarfed before it certainly is now.

This is where the "Warrior Tower" will fit.

Whoever has an office facing into the ground will have a fantastic view of the pitch.

Maybe Cecil's Place of pride for his visitors and possible sponsors.

Walking around the corner of the Sixways Suite you can see more clearly the start of the link to the  "Warrior Tower"

The tower will be a quite a bit to the North. From this you can visualise how far out the New North Stand will come out to.

View from the corner of the Sixways Suite.

If you look to the left of the floodlight mast you can see once again the link to the tower.

Looking into the South East corner all the concrete bases are now in place for the extended seating.

AND the final "S"

A closer view of this new "visitor's" seating

All the new extended seating bases are now in place.

Along with the 250 corporate seats this will provide us with a 2,500 increase in our capacity.

Or another £800,000 in gate receipts

The standard weekly view showing how magnificent the new stand will look.

Just imagine what this picture will look like come the game against Tigers

A closer view of the North East corner.

In 2/3 weeks time you will not be able to see the Wanderer's 1st team pitch or the trees as the new reception/office block will be filling the camera.

The front panelling above the corporate boxes is going in.

I am not sure how good this will look. It will look similar to the Gloucester Stand and make it look a little Colditz like.

I would prefer to have the same coloured glass that will adorn the "Warrior Tower". Aesthetically it would look much better

Another view I personally like showing 3 stages of development.

The initial West Stand, the "Bike Shed" and the awesome "New East Stand"

A different view this week.

Looking from the courtyard in the South East of the complex along the stand.

I have a fear that the supporters at the very top of the seating will not be able to follow the ball when kicked, as the overhang of the corporate boxes looks to significantly encroach on their line of sight

Another view which possibly indicates the view may not be so restricted The new extended seating
A vie of the back of the stand, I hope they cover in the steels Back of the new seating
This for me is the ugly bit of the stand. The relationship between the vertical steels and the old bars looks very clumpy and ugly A closer view of the link from the East Stand to the tower
Back of the East Stand looking North.

You can see here what the underside of the rear overhang looks like.

This is what will be presented to visitors to the ground and needs to be as impressive as the stadium pitch side

Once again under the overhang, where supporters will be walking.

It will certainly be better weather protected than before.

If they extend the bars to contain the first set of verticals it will look much better and provide another 2 meters of "drinking" space inside

South East Corner.

Get rid of that ugly box and give the players wives a better facility, make them feel they are a key part of the club.
