Waratahs v The Chiefs - Man of the match: A really difficult call. Muliaina, Ranby, Tuitupou, Kelleher, Gibbes, and Upton in the line-out all had excellent games for the Chiefs, while Whitaker, Tuqiri, Sailor, and Kanaar all played well for the visitors. But the stand-out performer, the one who did more than just perform his role exceptionally competently, was the Chiefs hooker Aleki Lutui who doubled up as hooker and flanker for much of the game in bombastic fashion. An explosve runner and a good scrummager. He will keep the pressure for the hooker berth on incumbent Tom Willis. HHooker Aleki Lutui gets a start against the Junior All Blacks after coming off the bench and scoring the match winning try against Fiji. Aleki then scored the only Tongan try in the game as they went down 38:10 |
