Game No 20, could The Warriors make it 20 straight wins.

On paper it seemed a fairly straight forward task. Take the initial burst, consolidate and then let the boys loose. However nothing in life is that simple

Henley were fighting for survival! They had little chance of winning but a bonus point was worth it's weight in gold. That meant Henley would run the ball from everywhere, defence was going to have to be as tight as the attack was to be fluid

Tommy Hayes, once again in at flyhalf got the game started. It was too deep and well taken by Henley, who immediately came on the attack. Hoping to catch Worcester cold Henley ran their way into the Worcester 22 and gave it everything they had. The forwards were storming into the ruck and mauls, their ball retention was magnificent. The ball was being recycled at speed!

However the Warriors defence was cool. calm and effective. The Henley attacks were beaten back with overwhelming force.

Then the Warriors kicked out of defence upto the halfway line. Stole the lineout and setup a devastating attack. It was done at electrifying pace as passes were shipped on faster than you can say, "two Tetley's Please". Under pressure Henley conceded a penalty taking Worcester upto the 5m line.

Fast catch and big drive, try number 1

Henley 0 : 7 Worcester

Back came Henley after a great kick-off and an abysmal catch.

They attacked deep into the Warriors 10 meter area. Big hits were going in from both sides, none more so than Mr Dynamo Gavin Pfister

All the hard work was coming from Henley, all the class was coming from Worcester (so far). Once again Worcester attacked from deep ripping the Henley wide defence to shreds Try No 2
Henley 0 : 12 Worcester And again Henley came out of the blocks as if their lives depended on it. It may very well do by the end of the season
Henley attacked through a very clever little chip over the top, which Daren O'Leary failed to secure the rolling ball. Henley were away but a stray hand pulled back the Henley flyers. Penalty try!!

Henley 7 : 12 Worcester

It was then the turn of Worcester to attack again through their backrow and midfield maestro's of Trueman and Hinshelwood.

Ben Daly was everywhere running hard and fast at the Henley midfield, punching holes for the backrow to come in and keep the move powering forward

We now lost Chris Garrard to the bin for a professional foul

Again and again they drove forward only to be stopped by a very determined defence.

Finally the dam broke Try No 3

Henley 7 : 19 Worcester

A good ball out to the Henley midfield which was covered by the incoming Pfister and Zaltsman. A thumping tackle, but the Hawks center stepped through.

Both Gavin and Dan were flat out with Dan lying unconscious. As happened at Sixways the game should have been immediately stopped. Both players were in danger of serious injury

However the game continued with Worcester now down to 12 men, medics on the field trying to treat the two players.

Henley continued their attack and scored a converted try

Henley 14 : 19 Worcester

Dan Zaltsman had to leave the field to have some running repairs on a 3" gash on his head. This was whilst wearing a scrum cap, good job as well.

Well it was now time for the Warriors to really turn it on and they did! Running at The Hawks from all angles with Ben and Gary creating havoc with surging runs and wonderfully slick handling to the flyers on the outside. Only indecision from Wes Davies saving the beleaguered Henley defence.

The Warriors were now in total control of the game looking dangerous from anywhere on the field

With 8 minutes to go the forwards took a hand in the situation and drove over another try form almost the 22.

Henley 14 : 26 Worcester

The bonus try secured

straight from the kick-off The Warriors attacked again setting up a great field position in front of the posts. However Henley defended and defended, forcing the rampant Worcester forwards out wide.

Mat Powell took the ball from the ruck and attacked through the smallest of gaps, slipping a great Ball to Wes Davies for the 5th Try

Henley 14 : 31 Worcester
