Paul Westmacot Audio Report Andy Keast Interview Plymouth
Tommy Hayes got the second half-underway, with the ball almost being stolen by Craig Gillies. The resultant line was overthrown and saw Drew Hickey hit the smallest of gaps and stormed through the defensive line.

From 35 meters out Drew out sprinted the covering defence to score try No 3 under the posts(41 secs)

With Worcester 3 tries and 21 points clear this may have suppressed many other sides but Plymouth had come to Sixways to win!!

Back they came through their big forwards and talented winger Robinson, who was now being brought into the attack on every occasion. The ball was worked deep into the Worcester 22 where a sustained attack on the Worcester line began. Worcester defended brilliantly finally forcing Plymouth to back peddle. Then the ball found Robinson who smashed his way through Jon Hylton for a well deserved try.

Worcester 21 : 5 Plymouth

Now, it was time for Worcester to go onto the attack again. This was great stuff for the screaming fans. Most of the noise coming from the west stand and the famous "Westies"

Another great set-up from Gary Trueman saw the quicksilver Jon Hylton skin the complete defence. An ankle tap saving the day as he stormed through the middle towards the posts

The link from forwards to backs was being orchestrated by Mat Powell who was having a good game, showing pace, power and quick thinking. Again and again causing the Plymouth defence severe problems.

Mat got his due deserts as he scored the 4th and bonus try

Worcester 28 : 8 Plymouth

Win this game and only 7 points for the championship

Gary Trueman and Ben Hinshelwood had looked dangerous all day, with two flying wings outside them the attack was looking frighteningly ominous.

It was Big Ben who went over for the 5th try. Once again in full support he took a wonderfully weighted pass to score outside in the corner

How many time have we said this today, "back came Plymouth" and how well did they come back?

There powerful and well drilled forwards came at The Warriors like a herd of rampaging bulls. In their case fully controlled rampaging.

They pounded the Worcester line. 3 times they were awarded penalties and 3 times they chose the line. Each time Worcester defence held.

Finally under this bombardment a slight crack appeared and in went the Plymouth second row for their second try of the day

Worcester 33 : 13 Plymouth

It was still a long way to go, for Plymouth to come back from this one, but try they did.

The power now being exerted by the Worcester 8 was taking it's toll with Mark Gabey having a storming day, he took a rest to be replaced by the young England Under 21 James Percival

It was surging forward play which created and scored the 6th try. Christian Evans being driven over by his big friends

Worcester 38 : 13 Plymouth

Another score looked on the cards as the Warriors increased the tempo yet again. However good defence kept them at bay

We are now into injury time. Just look at the face and body language of these Warriors and ask do they play to the end?

I can assure you these players are playing for Worcester and will play right upto the last second. They are quite simply the best side ever seen at Sixways and possible in this division!

Observations:

1.   Fantastic effort to breakdown this powerful and inform side from Plymouth.

2.   This is the sort of statement needed to be said, "We are here and we are the best"

3.   Not everything is rosy in the garden though. The first up tackling was poor in the first 20 minutes and not much better after that.

4.   Craig Gillies looks warn out. He gave everything as he has all season, but how much gas has he left.

5.   Mark Gabey finally showed just how powerful a runner he is actually breaking through tackles and staying on his feet.

6.   Gary Trueman is the key that unlocks the defences, in Ben Hinshelwood he has good up close support and they know each others patterns naturally

7.   The backrow has to be in support of Gary quicker or more turnovers will accrue

8.   Once again Gavin Pfister had another good game, coming off to give the powerful Neil Mason chance to remind us just what he can do.

9.   Chris Garrard had a quiet day at the office, but Daren O'Leary had another clever game.

10.   Jon Hylton is exceptionally quick and knows exactly where he is running. He attacks instantly, no stuttering and has the ability to move sideways fast and then step on the gas to go forward at warp factor 2

Now we have the big one!! You have seen today how committed the players are, then so must we be. This coming Saturday we have to fill the County Ground at Exeter with screaming, supporting Warriors fans.  Next week if we win 23 out of 23 a new national record will be set. We the supporters also have a challenge, can we take a minimum of 3 full busses (never done that before) to Exeter and dominate their very good home support.

Can you rise to the challenge, are you really committed to the club, if so then book your seat with Maxine at the club "NOW"
