It was all expectancy, we had had 40 minutes, could we have a second 40 of the same intensity, could it get better??

The answer was yes it could and it did, stepping another level of pace and intensity.

He set the target for some massive surges into the Penzance defence. But once again he was left isolated and the ball turned over. With Worcester in attack mode they were unable to stop a rather soft try

Warriors 33 : 10 Pirates

The Warriors came back with such massive power and speed, the game had taken another turn. They were playing now at real speed, not just driving over but moving the ball from the ruck to running players coming in at speed. The game was now visibly faster, would the Pirates be able to lift their game to stay with this level of intensity.

The answer was no not quite! This left Matt Evans the gate to hammer his way through for the 6th try

The game just got faster again. Gary provides that cutting edge of pace in the center and Hayes moved to fly-half, having a very good game getting his backs moving with purpose and creativity

We were then treated to another two driven over tries with Tony Windo and Neil Mason collecting their second tries of the game

Then disaster, found I had brought the wrong memory card and ran out of pictures!!!

It was now time for the threequarters to really show their paces. The attacking skills on show were incredible, the speed these player pass and interchange is a delight to watch. With players like Hickey and Matt Evans creating the links within the moves leaves you wondering just what is this team potentially capable of?

The next try was the second of his three tries from Wes Davies. Fully 25 meters out he took the ball  wide on the left, accelerated past the first line, twisted away from the second and then just burst his way through the third to score a fabulous try which had the crowd on their feet.

The next was a fully deserved try from the finisher supreme Daren O'Leary. He was having a great game, he was turning the defence inside out every time he received the ball. However from some of his passes you can see why he is a winger. Nonetheless he was causing all sorts of doubts in the minds of the defenders giving that little bit of space for others to exploit. Finally he scored a try and didn't he enjoy it.

Tommy Hayes, Gary Trueman and Ben Hinshelwood were now running at the Penzance defence with purpose and just that extra bit of time to be more creative.

Then the try of the afternoon from Wes Davies. Just inside the Penzance 10 meter line he received a ball after coming off his wing into the midfield. He took of like Duncan Roke, twisting and turning showing enormous strength on the ball. It was this strength and instant acceleration which allowed him to keep going. Forcing his way through, he then accelerated the final 10 Meters to score a great individual try under the posts.

There was not a single person sat on their seats. If the game had to end then end now, but no another  minute of time to go with at least 4 minutes of injury time to come.

The referee brought the game to a close some 2 minutes early but another good victory for the Warriors

Worcester Warriors 71 : 10 Penzance Pirates

Observations:

1.   As has been said over the last 3/4 weeks this team is getting better by the game and today was no exception. It is now a team that plays fully 80 minutes of sustained 15 man rugby.

2.   The three seasons John Brain has been here is now starting bear fruit. He had a tough first season but with players he had not recruited. Since then he and his players have got better and better.

3.   The team can now change from one game plan to another and back again at will,  that comes from confidence of the players around you, knowing they will always be in the right place at the right time.

4.   If we thought the second half against Orrell was good rugby, it now pales in comparison with what we have been treated to since.

5.   Matt Evans is a player of enormous potential anywhere in the backrow. He must be encouraged to continue to show his attacking flair but taught what to do if other players cannot keep up with him.

6.   Neil Mason another 21 year old who is now showing just what is in store for us as supporters.

7.   How do you choose between Brown and Hayes, they are both very talented fly halves. Brown brings his backs in on the advantage line where Hayes brings them in just before, both have their advantages depending on the team you are playing.

8.   The forwards once again showed just what they are capable of. Last weeks hic-up was just that. Gone and forgotten.

9.   Daren O'Leary is showing what a clever player he really is a very good game today.

10.   Jon Hylton forced to come on early for the injured Roke, but didn't he have a good game. Fast and elusive in attack and made two great covering tackles, showing again what a great asset true pace is.

Now onto Sharman's Cross and a meeting against our second team. they will be up for it as will their supporters.

We have to go there in force takeover the touchline early and dominate the support for the whole afternoon. Go by coach, car, horse and trap but be there and cheer on the Warriors for our last away game before Christmas
