Tuts' Audio Report The John Brain Interview
The game was played at a pace we have not seen before at Sixways. Delport, Horsman, Gabey and Trueman injured with Powell, Higgins and Hall not getting onto the field.

Roke played first half and is back to his old self. However there are still some unanswered questions reference his positional play in defence. In attack he was a constant threat.

Gollings and O'Leary (Full back in second half) looked good on wing, as did Rasmussen and Hinshelwood in centre. Lombard looked a class act at inside centre when he came on, but suffered injury.

O'duza looked good when he got the ball and Hylton is flying. Hylton's defence and positioning still looked a problem though.  Cole played Ok improved on last year but when Clive Stuart-Smith came on he showed what a class act he is and why he is so well thought of in England rugby circles.

Hayes looked good at stand off, and although Brown re-placed him, his long pass will get intercepted in the rush defences of premier. Tommy was also predictable, showing good defence though.

The starting front five was Tony Windo, Ben Daley, Neil Lyman, Phil Murphy and Craig Gillies, they dominated Cardiff in the tight as well as loose, for the first quarter. Line outs went well.

Who said we needed a new front five??

Fortey came on second half and unfortunately got injured. Sparkes is good and Van Niekirk did the last ten minutes and looks very useful.

Bowman looks the part.   Sanderson, Greef, and Hickey started in the back row. This was chopped and changed during the match. Hickey looked good as did Greef and Sanderson. (Sanderson looking to be the No 1 at 7) McCloud-Henderson also looks good but got injured. Saiosi Viali, what an impact player he is, Neil Mason also did well. It makes it difficult to predict what the final selection would be. The team was very impressive indeeed, with everyone playing for their place.

Ben Daley had a fine game. Its all up for grabs which is bringing the best out of them all.
