What an incredible statement, that we, Worcester were one of those 4 teams. We fully deserved to be there as we had played all our first 3 games with passion and utter commitment. the teams never say die attitude was reaping its just rewards and the supporters were revelling in every second.

Some experts say our game is boring, I say it is exciting, full of passion, physical and thrills to very last second. What else do rugby supporters want or need

We even had a visit from that famous dancing grouse, shame about the whiskey bottles dropping off its back as it flew in to celebrate the start of a forbidding encounter.

The teams had warmed up, the Warriors support had taken control of the stadium (for the time being) and all was set.

Lets get it on they cheered!!

Shane Drahm got the game away with a deep hanging ball, which Wasps secured after a quick drop from sweaty hands.  In came the warriors hunting dogs of Gillies, Sanderson and Murphy. Who was to have an exceptional game.

The ball was quickly recycled to Dawson who put in a massive up and under. Hylton running back made the fatal error of ball watching, it bounced back over his head into the hands of the chasing jaspers. Luckily the ball was knocked on but just to make sure Pat Sanderson had covered back, taken the bouncing ball and put in a strong touchline kick to safety.

At the scrum the experience of Ibanez fooled the referee completely as he stood up just as the front rows came together free kick to Wasps. From the tap the ball was quickly shipped right to Erinle who almost broke through. He was quickly supported by a fast backrow. The Warriors did not react quick enough and allowed Wasps to creep towards the line and then turned on the power as they drove over the line for the first score of the day. They were not to score for another 50 minutes!!!

Wasps 7 : 0 Warriors

It was a sucker blow that took the Warriors by surprise.

However not to be out done, Worcester straight from the kick-off retrieved the ball and stormed deep into Wasps territory.

A line out on the Wasps 5 meter line, the question to be asked was could we finally win an attacking lineout. the answer was emphatically YES.

The ball was cleanly taken and the drive set up. Now it was our turn to drive the bodies out of the way. Only 6 minutes gone

Wasps 7 : 7 Warriors

Wasps choosing to use and expansive game which was nipped in the bud by some terrific attacking defence from Sanderson, Vaili, Horstman and the centre partnership of Rasmussen and Lombard. Whatever was thrown at them they hit and hit hard, causing the ball to be dropped on many occasions if lady luck had smiled on 1 or 2 of the attempted hack through Worcester may well have scored 2 tries.

Worcester chose the more brutal and physical route of attack, through their magnificent forwards. A path the travelling supports love as the chants of Warriorrrssss,,,, Warriorrrssss started to shake the very foundations of  The Causeway Stadium. The payers responded with doubled effort as they drove back those nasty stinging jaspers

Worcester were clearly winning the 10 man game. Could they drive home and score the points? Could they expand to the full 15 and run in some tries. There was speed a plenty on one wing, but the gaps were not being created for the speedy Jonny Hylton to exploit. We have to get the ball to him faster, with at least half a gap AND supporting players to give him the option to go outside. Forcing him to come back inside looking for support is like asking him to run on one leg.

As we had seen throughout the game the midfield defence of Ras and Thomas was superb, however someone has to produce a cutting edge thorough defences

The supporters from both sides were enjoying the hard physical rugby on show. It was well organised and both sides deserve massive credit for their fitness and passion.

It was magnificent stuff, who said rugby was boring?? Not many points but great action on the field and great interplay between the two sets of  supporters off it.

Once again we had come to The Causeway and were magnificently hosted by the Wasps Supporters.

Slowly but surely the pressure was telling on Wasps as they started to concede penalties. Drahm Slotting a sitter in front of the Worcester Supporters who went wild.

Wasps 7 : 10 Warriors

With Van Guisbergen's first conversion he had equalled the record of Johnny Wilkinson's 28 consecutive conversion.

A penalty was awarded well within his range. Everyone in the ground was silent, even the Worcester supporters in their hearts wanted him to convert it.

Sadly the sailed wide..

The half came to an end with the honours just about on the side of Worcester.

Yes we can not only live with the best but compete!!
