The day dawned.

many of us gathered at Sixways to catch the coach down to High Wycombe and yet another meeting with the GP Champions Wasps.

There were thoughts it might be possible, however after the previous weekends exploits there were many doubters.

However, it was time to take a look at the East Stand to see how it was progressing. All the seats are now in and low and behold we have an "S"

We now truly are the

W A R R I O R S

The journey down was quiet and uneventful apart from Darren strolling up and down the bus selling raffle tickets and wristbands.

For those that missed the trip the wristbands are for "Help the Heroes" to help build a better facility for our injured servicemen, enabling them to get fit. Remember some of these young men are just 18 years of age and may have lost both limbs for their country.

Darren will be selling the bands at the Tigers game in the East Stand. Please buy 1 for a donation of £2.00.

Darren managed to sell all 100 on the day raising a magnificent £200

As is coming the norm now we have the younger lads out on the field to cheer on their heroes as they come onto the field of battle.

This was going to be a great day win or lose and already the Wuss supporters were in full voice.

We had the home support surrounded with supporters all around the stadium.

The noise and the passion from them was magnificent and boy did it get the heart pumping!!

Cecil looked relaxed and ready for this one.

I would think the Duckworth Suite seating area will surpass what he had here.

The home crowd as usual were very accommodating and extremely friendly as we all had a bit of banter before the game got underway.

Something about PIMMS and Champagne, Claret and Prawns mixed with our Cider and Guinness

A great day was in prospect lets get it on!

Hey, some joker has left the match ball hidden behind the posts.

It stayed there for some considerable time

The teams came out to a tumult of noise, with cheering, whistles and few odd horns or two.

We may have had out a very young side but there is some steel among this lot.

Remember the end of last season when we sent down an A Team to take on the mighty Wasps and we were swatted away, well lessons had been learnt. May of these had played in that game and it was time to settle the scores.

7 of the 22 had come though our own academy system in fact the backrow average age was just 22 taking on what some would say is the English backrow.

Matt Jones gets the game started as Mr Fox joins in the chase.

Matt had another confident game and most definitely looks at ease in the premiership

The ball arched high and central and in came the flying James Collins and took the ball clean out of Haskell's outstretched arms

This was the start we wanted, for James this was the start of a great game. He never stopped playing all day. Not just wild abandon controlled intelligent, intense rugby. He may only be 21 but boy can he play rugby.

The games was on and it was fast and furious with Worcester not giving Wasps the chance to settle or take a breath.

It was all out attack, keeping the ball on the go, changing the line of attack and support, support and more support.

The Worcester supporters were loving it as Warriorrrs Warriorrrs rang out clear loud, this was OUR boys an the attack.

The players continued, confidently assured they had the necessary skills to win!

There were times when the ball moved around so subtly that players were playing in two different areas absolutely convinced they had the ball

The ball was won by Wasps and it was a matter of trying to outpace the Warriors.

Wrong, our blind side wing-forward Tom Wood gets right across to the wing and absolutely creamed him.

Tom, James and Netalie were an awesome trio who tackled their hearts out.

What a totally different team we were seeing here compared to last Sunday at Franklyn's Gardens

Here he comes the human cannonball.

Josh Lewsey about to try his luck against the gentle Dale Rasmussen.

First one way, then come back on the other foot, but dale had his beady eye on him.

OK Dale, go get him boy.

The timing and the power was in perfect unison as Lewsey felt the full force of being "Rassed"

I bet that hurt!

When it wasn't Dale the timid Sammy T came in and flattened anything in front of him

he may have got past the first tackler but he is sure not even going to get as far as Chris Latham as James Collins come storming across.

Chris Latham had a great game, teaching, talking, supporting and always being in the right place at the right time.

His ability to read a game was uncanny as kick after kick found him waiting and if it wasn't Chris it was his young apprentice Chris Pennell.

There is no doubt that Chris at 21 years old has all the attributes to make it all the way to the top

Another player who was taking his opportunity was Ryan Powell.

Matt Powell's wife gave birth to their first baby the night before, babies just do what they want when they want. Congratulations Matt trust me your life will never be the same again.

Back to Ryan, his service was flat and fast giving Matt Jones that little bit of extra room. He is a strong bustling player that attacks and defends equally well.

Rees takes the ball supported by Haskell and Worsley, but in come two youngsters and it is that man Collins again.

No quarter given and none expected as James and matt pile in turning the ball over.

in the excitement of the game I forgot to take images of the try sequence, but it has been described at length in many newspapers. Suffice to say Sam overran an up and under, Lewsey totally misjudged it, Sammy reacted quicker and scored a fabulous 5 pointer.

Well needless to say the supporters at the far end of the field went ballistic.

There were cheers, screams of delight and I will swear I actually saw Silver Warrior with tears in her eyes.

We were on the board first with a well deserved try. Unfortunately Matt Jones was wide with the conversion.

Not that it mattered too much as Wuss were soon back on the attack with some clever intense rugby, putting the Wasps defence under real pressure.

If you are defending like that it is very difficult to counter with any purpose

The pressure lead to wasps going over just too many times and Mr Fox blew the metal moth piece.

Up stepped Matt and duly supplied the 3 points.

We were now 8 points in the lead and the supporters were beside themselves with joy.

It feels much better wining than falling apart at half pace against the saints.

This was a great team effort with every single player, playing at the top of his form

After 30 minutes Wasps started to come back into the game with some fast organise attacks.

They are great at swinging the play from side to side and then hitting diagonal lines through the middle.

But OUR defence was more than a match for them.

It was not that they were playing badly, but Worcester were just not allowing them time to settle and control the game.

It may feel like harem Scarem but by heavens you have to think quick.

Here we have Will Bowley with his first start of the season and from today's performance there are many more to come from him.

He is a powerful Lock who is both athletic and confident in his ability and at just 23 he is another player with good potential

Just look at this scent.

We have 4 Worcester players all 24 or younger. Three have come through our academy.

Matt puts his body on the line trying to stop Tom Rees as once again in come Collins and Wood, with Bowley ready to create another line of defence.

Walder sets up a great flick pass inside to Flutey and who is there to crunch him to the floor? Will Bowley our Lock who plays rugby like a blind-side flanker.

There was just no way through for the might Wasps back line.

They were really going to have to step up the pace if they were going to beat us.

Now what a sight for you ladies as the sheer power of Netalie almost rips the shorts off Greg and Will.

The ball is being fed back nicely from a front row who were more than competing against Wasps Mighty Men

We had young Matt Mullan a little over 22 taking on the massive Phil Vickery - he was not over awed and caused him problems of his own.

Now the front 5 were facing up to the opposition and beating them.

A huge crunching tackle from Sam Tuitoupu.

Haskell took the ball in a clear open field position. But Sam had read the game and was already zeroing in for the kill.

He took him clear amidships and just wiped him out, the ball shooting out of his numbed fingers. Haskell got up from the crunching tackle and just got on with the game, a tough tough man.

Wasps were now starting run at the warriors but they had to cope with the players well organised defence and the wall of sound from the visiting supporters.

Again and again they came. Down and down the went one after another as the defence held solid

They were getting close now but still the defence held.

Wasps were throwing everything they had at this very young Worcester team.

Chris Horsman is seen in the thick of it along with that man again James Collins

The marks of battle were clearly visible as up goes Tom Wood to secure yet another lineout, with Collins "lurking" ready to come and support if necessary or take the ball into the attack.

Wasps finally broke through with a short range interplay between Sackey and Walder, with Sackey going over for a well worked converted try

Who says fly halves can't tackle.

Jones is not a giant of a man but he does not shirk his responsibility when faced with the raging bull Phil Vickery.

He slowed him down enough for Netalie to finish the job.

Whistle and first half over with Worcester deservedly in the lead

Wasps 7 : 8 Warriors

Boy oh boy was that some great 40 minutes of intense full on rugby!

Even the Dream Standers look worn out.

Time to gather the energy and wonder what just might be.

A 0:0 second half would do just fine.

As it turned out we had almost prophesised the score.

The Hero Man!

Although he does not yet know it, Loki is about to become a legend in his own time.

We have never beaten Wasps at High Wycombe, we have come close on an occasion only to let the fickle hand of Lady Luck to changer the course of a game.

Pat's Sin binning, Thomas Lombard's dropped pass, Could history be made today?

Walder gets the second half underway with a towering kick off.

The English, oops sorry, the Wasps back row come steaming after it.

Chris watches on calculating where the action will next go, with Sam the man hunting out his next victim.

Not a good restart as Worsley takes the ball unopposed.

This was the start of some intense pressure from Wasps. They had to turn these first few minutes into points and then go on and dominate as they had done for many seasons.

The Dream Standers were in good form as their chants could be heard all around the stadium.

We down at tuther end, took a long powerful intake of breath and just exploded. Not just 1 or 2 chants but again and again and again. If we could make a difference we were going to do it!!

Again and again the Waspies attacked.

Palmer, Vickery, Rees, Worsley, Redden, Sackey all tried but the "Powerful and determined "Red Line" held firm.

Bring them cried Greggy, and we will stop them DEAD.

From down the other end some of the action was hard to see but the feelings were alert and passions high, this was going to be OUR day

Whoops missed that one then, so I'll have it.

James Collins calmly rises up and takes the ball.

Not an uncontrolled flick to Ryan but a managed and planned delay enough to hold back the Wasps forwards breaching through and sacking the scrumhalf.

The line outs were productive but different, properly organised they can still be a great source of good ball for the flying backs.

The ball here is flicked out by Reddan to the England lock Tom Palmer, Greg has set his sights and if he doesn't get him them Bowley will.

The fitness of our boys cannot be in question they just never stopped all day, Not in dribs and drabs but a huge hunting pack of beasts as the hunted out the ball carries and stopped them in their tracks.

This is where Worsley thought he would steam straight through young James. WRONG

James timed his tackle perfectly and took him out with a huge slam dunk to the grassy carpet.

Poor old Loki he was dying to get in there and flatten someone. He shall have to wait until Saturday and meet Mr Chuter

Wasps were still coming at the Warriors with some good rugby but the midfield of Rasmussen and Tuitoupu are probably the toughest, hardest hitting defender in the Guinness Premiership.

There is no backwards step, the timing of their tackles are incredible.

Here goes Haskell on one of his famous runs from the back of a scrum. In goes James Collins in a classic tackle through the hips to be followed up by a crunching hit from Netalie.

The back row were really communicating and working well together.

Up on the left Tom Wood is up and running around and not another wasps has moved off the scrum.

It was now time for Chris Latham to get stuck in again. He had already pulled off one certain try saving tackle and here he was tackling Josh Lewsey with guess who, yep Tom Wood.

Come on guys get down our end and lets see some of our own attacks.

So long as they don't score.

It was at this point Walder struck lucky and converted a penalty to take wasps into a 2 point lead

Wasps 10 : 08 Warriors

This was just the signal to intensify the game

Bothe sides were now upping the pace to get that domination where the defence cracks and the points flow.

It did not happen because both sides were utterly determined not to lose this the second consecutive game

Once again Wasps lose control of a scrum and Haskell has to scamper back to recover the ball.

The huge Ryan Powell spreads himself to cover all areas. However coming in behind, with his head up intelligently looking what is going on is Tom Wood.

It is not all about brute strength these days but about intelligent heads up rugby, in James, Will and Tom we have that skill in abundance

Just a few images of lineout's and the problems it is still creating There are hands all over the players making it difficult to win good ball
However if you get it right it is still a great source of good running ball.

The score was still 10:08 and we had just had Dale held up over the line. This after an intense period of pressure where Aleki, Greg and Netalie had all gone with a foot of the line.

The Wasps defence was holding ... just.

A great piece of ball retention saw the ball get to Loki who made a  looping pass towards the two Chris's Latham and Pennell.

This could be a disaster as Wasps final defender went for the interception.

With Latham in the line there was no defence all the way to our line 90 meters away.

The ball was too long for CL but not long enough for CP, but CL stretched enough to get his fingertips to it and flicked it over the hands of the defender and into the path of CP.

Pennall took the ball off the floor, cut back inside and laid an absolutely delightful pass to Latham. Chris then glided between two supporting defenders crossed the line and made his way to the posts.

Only for Mr Fox to pull him back for a forward pass.

NEVER said the Worcester Supporters Phew said the Waspies.

Watch Rugby Club and make up your own minds

The game was coming to a close all Wasps had to do was get their hands on the ball hold for a few minutes and it would be all over.

Worcester had different ideas they tried and they tried and they tried getting closer and closer.

Then Palmer gives away a penalty  9 minutes into extra time straight in front of the posts.

Where's Drahm, Where's Jones? It was time for Loki to put the demons to rest.

he very calmly placed the ball as not a sound could be heard, Supporters prayed, supporters looked away.

OH MY GAWD HE'S DONE IT!!

We have beaten WASPS let the celebrations begin
