After the rest during the break it was time to get the show back on the road.

Slemen kicked off, he did not make the same mistake as Hayes

What a festival of rugby was to unfold before the 3200 Worcester supporters

Orrell were soon back into there stride. however it was now the turn of the Warriors backs to go through some of the silky skills. A great passage of interplay created the slightest of openings for Gary "Truzy" Trueman, who took the perfect line and scythed through the Orrell Defence.

Punching the air Gary put down behind the post for Dead Eye himself to convert 4 out of 4 so far leaving the score after 3minutes of the second half at:

Worcester 23 : 14 Orrell

Once again, Orrell were stung into action, clearly showing if The warriors defence was not sound then they would score. But the defence was sound repelling wave after wave and then countering with great work from the whole pack. The out mauled the Orrell 8 with devastating muscle sapping drive after drive. It was a drive which once again was pulled down that Worcester were awarded another penalty some 8 meters into the Warriors half fully 60 meters out.

Tommy Hayes decided to go for goal, if he could score this would be a massive blow to the Orrell heart. The crowed were hushed as he strode in "THUMP" a howitzer of kick sailed between the uprights 3/4 the way up the post

Worcester 26 : 14 Orrell

Now it was attack after attack, maul after maul after ruck after ruck. The ball was recycled again and again, the back row drove deep into the heart of the Orrell defence.

Alfie To'oala had come on but he looked slow and unfit compared to all the other forwards on the field.

Gavin Pfister policed him, only once did he make any ground and then the ball was stolen and a counter begun.

He tried his luck through the centers but Ben and Truzy never once let him pass.

Gary needed to go off for running repairs and was replaced by Duncan Murray and he tackled and ran with a strength the Orrell defence just could not cope with
Another great passage of play saw breaks from the quicksilver Werner Swanepoel, he was having a great game, which started and attack which ended in another driven try from the ubiquitous Gavin Pfister

Worcester 33 : 14 Orrell 67 Minutes

Werner was replaced by Matt Powell who immediately started to set his stall for the scrum half birth. He is fast, strong and a lightening quick service.

Matt found a gap and accelerated away making fully 30 meters before setting up the start of a series of phases which culminated in the 4th and bonus point try. The ball was driven and recycled up field where it eventually got to Daren O'Leary who finally showed his pace, off he went scoring wide out on the left.

By this time Tommy Hayes had been replaced by last years kicking phenomena, James Brown. There was no let off for Orrell as James stroked the ball beautifully through the uprights to take the score to

Worcester 40 : 14 Orrell

Orrell, were determined to score everything was thrown at the Worcester line. Again and again they drove forward only to be denied by a totally committed defence equally determined not to let Orrell score.

Try as they might, they could not breakdown the defensive wall erected in the Warriors 22. It was riveting stuff to watch.

Finally Ben Daly had to be replaced, he was exhausted!! On came one of the crowds favourite the everffecent Chris Hall. Immediately adding pace into the fading legs. One great moment the ball came out of a ruck, everyone just stood and looked at it, Chris just stepped over, picked up and ran on!

But still they came on try try and try again finally the whistle blew after another penalty kick had been kicked to touch for another infringement at the ruck

Observations:

1.   The game against Otley had been laid to rest. To put into perspective Otley beat Plymouth at Plymouth today!!

2.   The pack are now working as a cohesive unit once again. Every minute of the fine detail put into the previous weeks training bore fruit.

3.   The line out worked a dream total domination

4.   To hole a side as good as Orrell to 0 points for the last 60minutes of play is some feat.

5.   Daren O'Leary started to show just what he can do, hopefully this will lift his confidence to go on and become a real asset to the club.

6.   Tommy Hayes is something special, he kept us in the race and then applied the killer blow a 60meter penalty.

7.   Gavin Pfister is like a dynamo who plays better against the more organised and capable opposition.

8.   Richard bates was clearly targeted for some heavy play to remove him before To'ala came on but with Thomas, Evans and Pfister around he was left with nothing

9.   It is now time to go to Bedford with confidence but with much respect. Bedford is a strong, proud rugby team and will take some beating at home.
